We can hardly believe it, but our little guy is now a month old! He's changed so much in the past several weeks, both physically and in personality. After several weeks of fussiness/colic we are starting to see a happy little boy emerge. :) Evan has had a routine of constant crying from around 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. every night. Brett and I would take turns walking him around the house because that seemed to be the only thing that worked, and even that was a temporary fix until he eventually fell asleep. During the day he wanted to be held constantly (so there's not a lot of time to blog as you can imagine).
Just yesterday we noticed that he didn't cry as hard or for as long as usual. He even slept 5 1/2 hours during the night last night (although I must say he's always been a great sleeper once he goes down). He's starting to smile back and coo at us too! He also does this funny thing with his leg when we lay him down on his changing table (which he loves) or the floor where he kicks it really fast like he's trying to start his motorcyle. It's so fun to see how he's changing and becoming a real little person!
We had our one-month checkup on Monday. Evan weighed 12.4 pounds (97%) and measured 24 inches long (which is off the charts)!!! No surprise there with his tall Mommy and Daddy though. He's super healthy as you can see. Unfortunately, he had to have one of his shots at this appointment. He was a champ and only cried for a minute. Here's a photo of his little Tweety Bird bandaid on this leg.
Mommy has to go back to work in just a few short weeks. We have a super sweet nanny coming to keep Evan, so hopefully I won't be as sad leaving him those first few weeks back knowing he's in good hands.
